A public toilet located within a popular shopping centre in Winsford is set to close following a spate of ‘physical abuse’, ‘drug taking’ and ‘anti-social behaviour’, a news report in the local media has been able to reveal.
The Dingle Walk public toilets, based in Winsford Cross Shopping Centre, are due to close as of the 29’th of February. Stewart Porter, centre manager, said, in a public notice: “Unfortunately, this is due to, the sustained physical abuse and damage to the toilets, constant stealing of toiletries, drug taking, and other inappropriate anti-social behaviour.
“We have unfortunately reached the point where it is no longer commercially viable to continue offering the use of these facilities to the public.”
“The costs of maintaining the services, including the regular unblocking of toilet systems, continued vandalism of all toilet ware is simply prohibitive”.
Installing a solid access restriction system is certainly the best approach by local authorities when faced with vandalism, and that’s exactly where Toilet Turnstiles could really puts its experience to good work.
Our toilet turnstiles are built from graded stainless steel, for easier cleaning and maintenance, and also come equipped with lockable lids to prevent unwanted access. Furthermore, the separate coin box offers very versatile mounting options, as it can be installed either in front of the turnstile, at the side or alternatively, on the wall, with the cash box at the rear.
The turnstile’s coin mechanism can be programmed for virtually any combination of coins with a secure cash box to hold them, while the additional counters for the number of entries made will enable a thorough level of control over the system’s operation.
