Local authorities across Wales could be made accountable for the provision of enough public toilets according to new legislation currently being drafted by the Welsh government.

Under the new rules, councils would be required to assess, regularly review, and meet the local demand for all the public conveniences they manage, including those in libraries and sports halls, a news source has revealed.

If passed, it is thought it could be the first duty of its type to be introduced in the UK.
