Customers in urgent need of using the public toilets at Swansea’s Quadrant Bus Station will have to spend 10p more than they are right now after the Council decided to push up the access fees in order to balance the books, a news report in the local media has revealed.
Currently, patrons caught short have to fork out 20p in order to use the public loos, but as of next month, they’ll have to cough up 30p, which, according to the British Toilet Association, which campaigns for better public toilet provision, is still good value for money.
A spokesman for Swansea Council said: "The increase in charges for the public toilets at the bus station and the closure of Caer Street toilets were included in the recently approved budget proposals. The bus station toilets are among the best in the city, providing a convenient, safe and clean environment which are accessible to the public, including those with disabilities.”
