public toilets Cambridge City Council Toilet Turnstiles access control coin operated stainless steelNew plans for public toilets in Cambridge were thrown out because they were not deemed to be fit for purpose. Leader of Cambridge City Council Cllr Sian Reid explained that the proposals for the Lion Yard retail complex were not about providing good city centre public toilets. She said after the plans’ refusal: “We are listening to the public. It is time the developer started listening to the public as well. These proposals will not solve the problems we are facing.”

Retail areas are perfect for Toilet Turnstiles’ durable and efficient access control technology, and we have already successfully supplied them to big concerns such as the W12 Shopping Centre in London. The coin operated turnstiles are developed from the need for local authorities and private companies to provide public WCs to a good standard and to generate revenue for their general maintenance. The stainless steel turnstile bodies have lockable lids to prevent unwanted access and are securely mounted to the floor plate.
