The public toilets installed in Skegness’s Tower Esplanade toilets near the Festival car park are to re-open soon, after being refurbished as part of a £500,000 public toilet improvement programme.

The improvement programme by East Lindsey District Council included redecoration, new cubicle doors and vanity units, energy efficient motion sensored flushing and hand driers, and proximity sensor operated lighting, a media news report on the matter has revealed.

The Council’s Portfolio Holder for the Environment at the Council, Councillor Steve O’Dare, said: “There is nothing worse than using a grotty public toilet. We have been able to invest heavily in public toilets over recent years to bring some of the older facilities up to the standard expected by those who use them.”

Implementing a very solid and reliable toilet access control system is also something local authorities should seriously consider, especially since charging a fee for access is the most sensible solution when it comes to public toilets’ funding.

This is exactly where Toilet Turnstiles could really puts its experience to good work.

Our toilet turnstiles are built from graded stainless steel, for easier cleaning and maintenance, and also come equipped with lockable lids to prevent unwanted access. Furthermore, the separate coin box offers very versatile mounting options, as it can be installed either in front of the turnstile, at the side or alternatively, on the wall, with the cash box at the rear.

The turnstile’s coin mechanism can be programmed for virtually any combination of coins with a secure cash box to hold them, while the additional counters for the number of entries made will enable a thorough level of control over the system’s operation.
