Public conveniences in the Market Harborough town centre are set to reopen later on this month, a recent news report in the local media has been able to suggest.
Shoppers will be able to use the lavatories at the Commons car park after they were closed when the Covid-19 lockdown was imposed in late March. The toilets will be open from 8.30am-5.30pm on seven days a week.
The WC block is re-opening as non-essential shops and stores prepare to open their doors again in Market Harborough after over 10 weeks next Monday.
The Gents, Ladies and Disabled toilets will be thoroughly cleaned every hour to reduce the risk of coronavirus infection.
Additional signs will also be put on the building and site rules will be on the doors for people who want to spend a penny.
The decision has been announced by Cllr Phil King, leader of Harborough District Council.
Cllr King said: “There will be an operative on site to ensure a one-in-one-out process is adhered to and that social distancing is maintained.”
“We ask that users of the toilets abide by the social distancing guidelines,” said Cllr King.
