The public toilets in Ammanford Park, Ammanford, Carmarthenshire, are going through a refurbishment process, with access doors set to be reinforced in a bid to deter vandals, town councillors have been told.

According to a report in the local media, the toilets, which have been persistently targeted by louts, are currently maintained by Carmarthenshire county council and will continue to be so for the next three years prior to the town council taking them over.

Cllr Jonathan Jennings said an idea to put vandal-proof steel grills across the doors had earlier been mooted. “It would be interesting to know whether the county council are going to do that,” he added.
