St George’s Park and Eastville Park in Bristol will get new public toilets after losing their existing conveniences back in in January 2018, when Bristol City Council closed all of the city’s on-street loos to save £440,000 a year.
According to a news report in the local media, residents caught short in St George’s Park will be able to relieve themselves in brand new facilities next to the bowling green from this weekend.
Eastville Park will also get new public conveniences, but park users will have to hang on until April next year for the new loos.
The council is also planning to upgrade the toilets in St Andrew’s Park and Victoria Park.
City mayor Marvin Rees said: “Four street toilets were closed in January 2018 which were located close to parks but the toilets within parks have remained open.
"We are pleased to be able to share that we will be providing new facilities in both St George’s Park and Eastville Park in the coming months.
“And we’re also going to be upgrading St Andrew’s Park toilets before the next summer and looking forward to putting new facilities in Victoria Park.”
Charging a fee for access is quite often the most sensible solution when it comes to public toilets’ funding – and indeed keeping these facilities open for the general public, and this is exactly where Toilet Turnstiles could really put its
Our toilet turnstiles are built from graded stainless steel, for easier cleaning and maintenance, and also come equipped with lockable lids to prevent unwanted access. Furthermore, the separate coin box offers very versatile mounting options, as it can be installed either in front of the turnstile, at the side or alternatively, on the wall, with the cash box at the rear.
The turnstile’s coin mechanism can be programmed for virtually any combination of coins with a secure cash box to hold them, while the additional counters for the number of entries made will enable a thorough level of control over the system’s operation.
