A spokesman for British Transport Police (BTP) reiterated that “vandalism has no place on the railway” after a spate of incidents in the north. The BTP statement continued: “BTP is committed to working with train operators to fully investigate incidents of vandalism and take necessary action against offenders.” Graffiti has been written on walls and holes gouged in plastic boards at station toilets by yobs at Bolton Station, where repeated attacks have been made.
