A local council has decided to submit an entry to the Loo of the Year Awards after refurbishing the public conveniences in the area.

Epping Town Council has carried out improvement works on the public toilets at Bakers Lane in an £85,000 project and reopened them in January, a news report on the matter can reveal.

All entries receive a grading, ranging from Bronze, Silver, Gold or Platinum, with the National Awards Presentation Ceremony being held in December.

Mayor Will Breare- Hall said: “They have done a very good job on the toilets and we have received positive feedback on them – it will be a chance to show off our facilities.”
