A mass closure of public toilets is one of several drastic measures taken by Manchester City Council as a way of clearing its budget deficit. The council has this week detailed its £109m saving cuts plan over the next financial year, and said the cuts were forced on the city. All public toilets will close under the cuts, except those on Mount Street, and swimming pools at Levenshulme and Miles Platting will shut.
