 The vital importance of public toilets is often overlooked. We all know how awful it is to need the toilet and not be able to find an available one, but many vulnerable groups are disproportionately affected by a lack of public toilets in public areas, due to their need to access facilities quickly and/or privately:

Great Yarmouth Borough Council considers imposing charges for public toilet use

A local authority is considering charging a fee for access to public toilets, a recent news report in the local media has been able to suggest. 
 
The Great Yarmouth Borough Council operates 11 such facilities, both year-round and seasonal, across the borough, and its members are considering the possibility of imposing a fee for their use.

Taxi drivers’ group campaign leads to reopening of public toilets in Caerphilly

A campaign by the Caerphilly County Borough Taxi Drivers’ Association has managed to reach its desired outcome, as the local authority has agreed to reopen the public conveniences. 
 
According to a report on the matter, the toilets in Station Terrace were shut by Caerphilly council, alongside four other toilet blocks, in April.
 
However, David Miller, secretary of the taxi drivers’ association, said the toilets, which are located near a train station, bus and taxi ranks, are "important" for the public.
