Residents in Berwick-upon-Tweed have expressed their outrage regarding the state of the toilets on Castlegate and demanded action from the council, a news report revealed.

Using the available social media channels, quite a few people living in the area have managed to paint a very bleak (and sometimes quite disturbing) picture of the conditions anyone having to use these public conveniences has to face.

Following these appeals, the Berwick Deserves Better committee members said they would take the matter up at their next meeting. The group takes its views to Berwick Town Council.

In order to ensure that the toilets are well kept, setting an access charge is usually the best idea, and the most cost-effective solution of this type is represented by the Coin Operated Turnstiles manufactured by Toilet Turnstiles.

Our turnstiles are accompanied by a separate coin box that offers very versatile mounting options, as it can be installed either in front of the turnstile, at the side or alternatively, on the wall, with the cash box at the rear.

Additionally, the coin mechanism can be programmed for virtually any combination of coins, while the additional counters for the number of entries made will enable a higher level of control regarding the system’s use and cash input.

Furthermore, the turnstiles also ensure a higher level of security for public toilets, which are quite often vandalized.
